Big Enough To Cope, Small Enough To Care

Meet Our Team

Dr Andrew Melling B.V.Sc MRCVS

Senior Veterinary Surgeon

Background: Andrew graduated from Liverpool Vet School in 1981 and worked in mixed practice and then small animal practice for 11 years. Following this he started his own practice ‘Andrew Melling Vets’ in 1992 and the rest as they say is history.

His favourite part about being a vet is the job itself – he said you can’t be a vet for this long unless you enjoy it! His preferred clinical area is anything equine based but specially lameness cases.

When not working Andrew enjoys fishing, craft beer, adventure holidays, wildlife, and a glass of red wine (the good stuff)

Dr Stuart Bradburn BVetMed MRCVS

Senior Veterinary Surgeon

Stuart qualified from the RVC in London in July 2005 and has worked at Andrew Melling Ltd ever since (this year was his 20 year anniversary ) and we would quite simply be lost without him.

Stuart predominantly works on the farm side of the practice, he particularly enjoys reproductive/ fertility work and herd and flock health His favourite things about being a vet are the variety of the job, being able to make a difference, and getting to meet all of our lovely clients.
When he’s not at work he can be found helping out on his family’s dairy farm, spending time with his dogs, doing DIY or any jobs Vikki finds for him to do.

In his spare time, Danny enjoys spending time with his family and taking care of his 2 children, 3 year old James and 7 month old Rosa. Dr Victoria Newman BVSc BSc MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Victoria has worked at Andrew Melling Ltd since she qualified from The University of Bristol in July 2022.

Victoria enjoys all aspects of being a vet in a mixed practice as no two days are ever the same – it genuinely doesn’t feel like work (except when the on call phone rings at 3am). She particularly enjoys spring time and all the craziness that comes with lambing season, calf health, and equine medicine cases.

When she’s not at work she enjoys running (did she mention she did the London marathon this year), travelling the world, going to the gym, taking her cocker spaniel pup Indie on lovely walks, and spending time with family and friends

Dr Charlotte Winrow BVSc BSc MRCVS

Charlotte started working at Andrew Melling Ltd in September 2025 following her graduation from the University of Liverpool in July.

She is currently interested in and enjoying all aspects of being a farm animal and equine ambulatory vet, meeting all of our lovely clients and looking forward to her first spring!

When she isn’t at work she enjoys playing netball, looking after her animals at home (2 miniature donkeys, 2 horses and a small flock of sheep), and going for a walk round rivington and having a roast on a Sunday.

Dr Holly Mellor BVMS MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Holly started working at Andrew Melling Ltd after graduating in July from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh.

She has been loving all aspects of the job especially that we get to see and treat so many different species!

Holly is particularly interested in calf health and cow lameness as well as equine medicine and the occasional alpaca
In her spare time she likes to go to the gym and swim as she grew up swimming for her local club. She also does some crocheting (granny hobby) and enjoys going to lots of gigs (waiting on an invite to one of Charlie’s performances) . Oh and she rivals Andrew with the fishing.
